Mr. Li Gang, the head of ABB Robot China said, “Currently, China is the fastest-growing industrial robot market in the globe. According to the International Federation of Robotics, in 2011, industrial robots totaled 74,317. And it is expected that, the installed robots will grow at an annual growth rate of 10% in the period of 2013-2015, and China is expected to become the largest industrial robot market in the world. In face of such a rapidly-growing industrial robot market, robot-related talent training is of great urgency. ABB has always been giving full play to its technical advantage in automation, providing a strong human resource guarantee for advanced equipment manufacturing, and it also has been taking active part in the strategic planning for robot human resources.
Presently, China is in the critical period for industrial upgrade and transformation, and as an irreplaceable important equipment and means in advanced manufacturing, industrial robot has become a significant symbol for measuring a nation's manufacturing level and technology level. Industrial robots enable enterprises to improve their productivity and product quality, reduce cost and minimize energy consumption. As a result, an increasing number of enterprises begin to use robots to achieve modern production with higher efficiency and less energy.
The 12th Five-Year Plan will be a critical turning point for the industrial development of industrial robots in China. China needs more relevant applied technical talents to devote themselves to automation businesses. ABB has actively established joint talent training plans with universities and colleges in China, and established extensive cooperation with famous science and engineering universities in major economic regions, providing full support to these universities and colleges, including provision of teaching materials, equipments, training, courseware, software and instructor training, so as to build a bank of skilled persons, delivering a steady flow of excellent talents for the country.
