ABB launches unique Living Space® Experience showroom

2017-09-22 - Pioneering technology leader ABB is pleased to announce Warsaw as the venue for one of Europe’s most innovative building management showcases.

ABB has launched its ABB Living Space Experience, a dedicated showroom presenting the latest innovations in smarter building and smarter home solutions.

Designed by Magdalena Czernik and Przemysław Strzałkowski - architects from the Megart Design studio, with the support of project partners: Philips, Bubendorff, Kinnarps, Saint Gobain, Daikin, Miele, Bang & Olufsen, Hypnos Beds, Zajc Kuchnie and Decoflame, the showroom demonstrates the breadth of innovative building automation technology from ABB.

Arranged as a living space apartment, the showroom features a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, multimedia lounge and bedroom with a bath room. There is also a second bathroom, study room, technical room and additional work space. Throughout, the simple and clean designs complement the ultra-modern standard of ABB i-bus® KNX technology and ABB-free@home®, giving visitors the opportunity to witness first-hand the benefits of being able to personalize home controls such as lighting, temperature and ventilation.

"Our apartment welcomes guests with friendly and easy-to-use automatic control functions. We have used state-of-the-art programmers to ‘react’ to visitors and offer fully personalized event scenarios,” explains Krzysztof Sasin, Technical & Design Promotion manager for Building Products business at ABB Poland.

“We have incorporated lighting controls, blinds, optimum temperature settings, ventilation, alarm, sound and image controls. This unique solution on the Polish market will allow our customers to fully familiarize themselves with all the possibilities of KNX technology. The ABB Living Space Experience will be able to intuitively control the space, not only by the panels installed in the walls, but also from mobile devices.”

Internal communication between the devices will allow users to monitor and forecast all media consumption and adjust the functioning of the apartment to the rhythm of the user's day, for example the amount of natural light or air quality, thus saving energy and water.

Monika Komalska, project manager of ABB Living Space Experience in Poland adds:
"An intelligent home is ultimately a place that should minimize the negative impact of our daily activities on the environment and provide a sustainable living solution and this showroom demonstrates exactly that.”

“On the map of intelligent building automation systems, there is finally a space where architects and automation integrators will be able to experience and discuss project details in a very realistic setting. In addition to the presentation of the product offer, we plan, among others; cyclical workshops, training sessions, exhibitions and meetings with architects, developers and designers.”

The launch event saw a series of presentations by ABB in the living environment and discussion panels amongst architects, representing the award-winning Hola Design studio. Artistic impressions were provided by Brazilian singer Liz Rosa and multi-instrumentalist Grzech Piotrowski.

The ABB Living Space Experience showroom is located in the heart of old industrial part of Żoliborz, at no. 3 Duchnicka Street, in the former inventions factory of the Institute of Precision Mechanics, brought back to life under the name Defabryka. Thanks to the architectural values, this post-industrial interior brings together original designers and ideas under one roof, creating the ideal venue for creative meetings.
