Collaborative Operations utilizes the ABB Ability platform and cloud infrastructure to securely integrate and aggregate data from multiple sites. This data is automatically analyzed and continuously monitored by both customers and ABB experts in connected Collaborative Operations Centers, where asset and process discrepancies are identified, categorized and prioritized for appropriate action. Customers collaborate with ABB as needed to leverage operational efforts.
Collaborative Operations combines ABB applications into a framework that fosters cooperation, improves communication and optimizes connection. These applications include Alarm Management, Asset Health, Condition Monitoring, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, KPI Dashboards, Emissions Monitoring, Operations Support, Performance Optimization, Production Management and Simulation. Collaborative Operations users interact with these applications through ABB’s Extended Operator Workplace, a unique control room environment designed and optimized for 24/7 operations. ABB currently serves customers in Collaborative Operation Centers located around the world; many more will be opening in 2017.
“Collaborative Operations is a true Internet-of-Things application,” said Richard Windischhofer, head of ABB Collaborative Operations. “It is a tried and tested approach that has delivered value in marine, oil, gas and chemical industries. Due to customer demand, we are expanding the range of industries we serve, including cement, manufacturing, metals, mining, paper, power generation and water customers.”
