Welcome to visit us at TOC Asia 2013 in Hong Kong

2013-01-10 - ABB exhibits in this year's TOC Asia in Hong Kong, March 12-14. Welcome to visit us on stand F18.

Efficient terminals depend on the reliable and safe handling of containers. Additionally, terminal operators are increasingly facing the challenges posed by bigger vessels and requirements for higher productivity. The port industry is on a breakthrough in terms of adding a new level of automation to meet these challenges.

Intelligent automation for STS and ASC from ABB - Equipment control in a single system
ABB’s integrated automation system makes container terminal equipment intelligent, allowing it to deliver the required performance and also save energy.

As an example, intelligent stacking cranes are capable of scheduling and optimizing movements of containers to minimize the traveling with empty spreader to save time and energy. They can also utilize low activity periods for automated housekeeping in a yard to increase block productivity.

Add to this the ability to remotely control both the quay cranes and the stacking cranes and you have equipment control in a single system. As a result: increased productivity and improved working ergonomics for the crane operators.

ABB Crane Systems offers solutions and equipment for controlling the motions of container cranes. Over the years, ABB has delivered automation and electrification for almost 400 stacking cranes and nearly 600 STS cranes.

ABB's technology for remote control of STS cranes has been of great interest during this year and several projects in which this technology will be used have been awarded to ABB. Read more about remote control of quay cranes.

Take the opportunity to discuss with us how our automation solutions could benefit your terminals and improve the crane productivity. Welcome to TOC Asia.
