90 children receive ‘back-to-school’ contribution from ABB in Malaysia

Mar 6 : The start of each academic year is typically a stressful period for most parents as preparations for school essentials can sometimes take a toll on the family budget. For the less well-off families, ABB’s back-to-school contribution not only eases their financial burden but also puts a smile on the faces of children as they start the year.
Initiated back in 2009, the program supports around 90 deserving students each year from three schools namely Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 2, Sekolah Kebangsaan Seafield 3 and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 8.

During an event held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 8 on Friday, February 7, Stephen Pearce, President and Country Manager of ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, met teachers involved in the program before presenting the children with their packs.

One of the recipients, Aisyah, 10, shared her delightful, “My mom has been taking care of me since my father passed away four years ago.I would like to thank ABB Malaysia because I can now walk to school feeling happy with my brand new bag and uniform."

The 90 students including Aisyah received a pack each comprising a complete set of school uniform, shoes, school bag and basic stationery items.
