ABB has been awarded for the Industry and Services sector for its "ABB Energy Efficiency Award" now in its 5th edition and that each year rewards the virtuous Italian companies that successfully invest in technological innovation to improve their energy efficiency and the environmental impact of their production activities. Besides corporations, ABB awards also two students who have developed their graduation thesis on innovation in the field of energy efficiency, an issue that has taken on a key and strategic role within the Italian National Energy Strategy.
Since its creation in 2008, the ABB Energy Efficiency Award has been awarded to 20 Italian companies representing large, small and medium enterprises operating in the manufacturing and process industries segments, the tertiary sector, the transportation and utilities. In addition to business realities, also educational institutions, hospitals and municipalities have been recognized by the ABB award in the past.
