ABB Italy honoured by the Innovation Award of Awards 2013

The award was presented by Minister Maria Chiara Carrozza during the Italian "National Innovation Day”
Sesto San Giovanni (Milan), June 25, 2013 - ABB, the world’s leading power and automation group, is among the winners of the Innovation Award of Awards 2013. The prestigious award was presented by the Minister of Education, University and Research, Maria Chiara Carrozza during the celebration of the National Innovation Day held today at the CNR (National Research Council).
As part of the day, the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano met with the companies awarded with the National Award for innovation.

Now in its fifth edition, the Award of Awards was established by decree of the President of the Council of Ministers at the Foundation Cotec, under the auspices of the Italian President of the Republic, with the intent to support the creative and innovative capacity of our country in key economy areas, contributing to the improvement of Italian competitiveness.

ABB has been awarded for the Industry and Services sector for its "ABB Energy Efficiency Award" now in its 5th edition and that each year rewards the virtuous Italian companies that successfully invest in technological innovation to improve their energy efficiency and the environmental impact of their production activities. Besides corporations, ABB awards also two students who have developed their graduation thesis on innovation in the field of energy efficiency, an issue that has taken on a key and strategic role within the Italian National Energy Strategy.

Since its creation in 2008, the ABB Energy Efficiency Award has been awarded to 20 Italian companies representing large, small and medium enterprises operating in the manufacturing and process industries segments, the tertiary sector, the transportation and utilities. In addition to business realities, also educational institutions, hospitals and municipalities have been recognized by the ABB award in the past.
