ABB introduces Essential Automation portfolio for OEMs and systems integrators

Includes established solutions and products to improve efficiency of small to medium processes in all industries
Singapore, March 25, 2013 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has identified system integrators and OEMs as important sectors with specific needs for control systems and products. With the formation of the product group - Essential Automation - ABB goes to market suited precisely for these segments.

ABB’s Essential Automation: Freelance DCS (L) and Compact Product Suite.

Essential Automation is comprised of two main offerings: Freelance, the user-friendly, reliable and cost-effective distributed control system (DCS) currently running thousands of applications ranging from water to chemical processes worldwide; and Compact Product Suite, a collection of products from ABB’s former Compact 800 family, process and safety controllers, human machine interface (HMI), field interfaces or I/Os, and process recorders. It includes the AC 800M controller, Compact HMI, Panel 800, and the S900, S800 and S700 I/Os. The Compact Product Suite also includes the AC 700F micro-process controller, ScreenMaster videographic recorder and ControlMaster single- and dual-loop controllers.

These products may be used as a standalone solution or to complement an existing or customized system. This flexibility of use makes these control products suitable for system integrators or OEMs in managing customized control environments.
