ABB honored for participation in the Saudi Arabian Responsible Competitiveness Index

2010-04-04 - King Khalid Foundation and SAGIA recognize ABB's working in fostering innovation, HR excellence and developing national talent.
Held in January during the Global Competitiveness Forum in Riyadh, the Saudi Arabian Responsible Competitiveness Index measures the commitment of companies in the Kingdom to sustainable development and good corporate governance.

ABB was highly commended for its education, training, and focus on operational health and safety and supply chain management.

"To be recognized by a body such as the King Khalid Foundation for the good work that we are doing is a sign that ABB is leading the industry in the Kingdom when it comes to responsible business, and that's something we can all be proud of," said Alex Malouf, communications manager, ABB Saudi Arabia.

"I hope that next year's index will show we have made improvements in all areas of our business, and I'm looking forward to working with everyone in ABB to underline the company’s commitment to Saudi Arabia’s development."

SARCI is the most in-depth assessment of responsible business practices undertaken in the Kingdom. The SARCI partners are the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), the King Khalid Foundation, AccountAbility, and Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

The core of the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index is an annual assessment of leading businesses in Saudi Arabia. Eligible businesses are large or small, public or private, Saudi or foreign, from any sector. Businesses which chose to participate have had an in-depth discussion of their performance with trained analysts, based on AccountAbility's global Responsible Competitiveness Index (RCI) framework.
