ABB Commitment
Through the extensive product life cycle policy ABB has a long-standing commitment to protect its customers’ investments in ABB products and technologies for protection, control, monitoring and supervision of power systems.

A product entering the Classic phase on the ABB’s product life cycle means that the product is only available for extensions of existing systems. Consequently during this phase, the price of the product can increase due to the smaller volume and rising component price from sub-suppliers. Additionally, delivery times for the products may be longer as production quantities get smaller.

The Limited phase means that the regular manufacturing of the product ceases on the date the product enters Legacy phase. During the Limited phase the product support continues and ABB supports the installed bases with spare parts and repair for as long as components remain available. The Limited phase is due to expire ten (10) years after the announcement of the transfer to the Classic phase.

In the Obsolete product life cycle phase ABB can no longer guarantee complete support for the product. However, ABB provides spare parts depending on the available inventory. Also repair services are provided depending on the component availability.
