ABB showcases full range of offerings in oil, gas and chemical industry in Guangzhou
Beijing, October 13, 2016
Today, ABB presented its leading power and automation products, technologies, solutions and services oriented to the oil, gas and chemical (OGC) field in Guangzhou through two large roadshow cars, as part of ABB’s 2016 national roadshows for China’s OGC industry, while sharing its successful cases in oil and gas production and transportation, oil refining and refinery, in a bid to help customers reduce operational costs, improve efficiency and competitiveness, and stand out from competition against the economic downturn and various market challenges.
Since the launch on March 22, ABB has organized national roadshows for 2016 China’s petrochemical industry in Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wuhan. Through the one-stop platform, it has enabled more than 6000 customers to have an intuitive understanding of ABB’s products, technologies and solutions for OGC industry from different business units. Started in Huizhou on October 12, the southern roadshows will be extended to other cities in Guangdong and its neighboring provinces of Fujian and Guangxi.
As the world's leading company in power and automation technology, ABB has 50 years of experience in the OGC industry, and provides complete sets of power and automation products, systems and services to oil and gas value chain from exploration, production and transportation to oil refining and chemicals. ABB has a strong portfolio such as drives and motors, transformers, switchgears, substations, automation, safety, meters & instruments, analyzers, telecom, power management, high-voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) and high voltage cables, e-house and services. Meanwhile, ABB executes the industry’s highest technical standards and enables customers to improve production reliability and efficiency. Through power and automation integration as well as the enhancement of IoTSP, ABB can help users cut cost by up to 20%.
For instance, ABB 800xA Extended Automation System Platform enables seamless collaboration among different departments, processes and equipment across a factory and thus helps customers optimize the design and performance of power and automation systems, improve asset utilization and enhance operation efficiency by lowering cost in maintenance, engineering and the whole life cycle. Besides, ABB’s instruments, meters and analyzers enable safe and efficient automated production, storage and transportation in the OGC industry through accurate measurement and analysis for such key parameters as temperature, humidity, pressure and chemical components.
Leveraging these leading technologies and solutions, ABB has worked closely with customers in the OGC industry and helped them achieve efficient and safe production while improving the performance. For example, ABB provided electrical products including high-efficient motors, drives and transformers for the 1,613-km-long Zhongwei-Guiyang gas pipeline project to support the energy transmission in western China. ABB provided a complete set of automation solutions and engineering services to the Shale Gas Project in Jiaoshiba Block in Fuling, Chongqing to support China's first large-scale shale gas project to achieve efficient and smart production. ABB’s drives were applied in the “Gas Transmission from Sichuan to Eastern China” project, ensuring the long-distance pipeline transmission of gas in China. ABB also provided medium and low-voltage switchgears and gas-insulated switchgears for Phase II of the Huizhou refining project of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), to help build it into an important petrochemical project in China and even the whole world.
Meanwhile, ABB fully supports Chinese enterprises to go global by taking advantage of development opportunities brought by Belt and Road initiative, and cooperates with them in overseas projects through its advanced technologies and global footprint advantages. ABB has by far participated in project construction initiated by China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and other petrochemical enterprises in a dozen of countries and regions across Asia, Middle East and Africa. For example, it has supported sustainable and reliable operation of such projects as 220 kV main substation solution provided for a crude oil processing project at the Atyrau Refinery contracted by Sinopec in Kazakhstan, and SCADA monitoring and data collection system, power management system and electrical equipment provided for to the oilfield power plant project contracted by CNPC in Iraq.
Following the exhibitions in Huizhou and Guangzhou, ABB will continue with the roadshows in Qinzhou, Maoming, Zhuhai and Quanzhou respectively during the next half year of 2016, showcasing its leading technologies, products, solutions and services in OGC industry to local customers and partners through roadshow visits and seminars.
ABB is a leading global technology company in power and automation that enables utility, industry, and transport & infrastructure customers to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact.
