Followed by the speeches, ABB experts presented ABB’s latest Products & service portfolios, innovations and reliable & energy efficient solutions that provide optimum operational savings with minimal environmental impact in the infrastructure and transportation sectors along with ABB’s extensive experience in the management of Rail and Transport projects worldwide and the skills and expertise know-how to provide customized solutions for a wide range of applications with emphasis that transport and infrastructure are key focus areas in ABB’s Next Level strategy and part of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility for a better world. were also presented.
Some of technologies presented in this event were ABB’s Effilight® and ENVILINE, Effilight® ; a traction transformer which features a unique patented design enabling significant reduction in the amount of oil required which results in significant weight reduction and energy savings for railway operators. It is designed to capture the energy of decelerating trains that would otherwise be lost in the form of heat during braking when a train pulls into a station. Instead of being lost, the energy is captured in a battery energy storage system that is used to give a boost to trains as they accelerate for more efficiency.
Flexible drivetrain solutions and fast-charging infrastructure solutions for electric vehicles & buses were also presented which cut carbon emissions and provide real alternatives to gasoline-powered public transportation.
