ABB showcases a range of intelligent office space solutions at CPSE 2017

2017-10-30 - Pioneering technology leader demostrates market leading credentials in smarter buildings sector
At the China Public Security Expo 2017 (CPSE 2017) opened today in Shenzhen, ABB is showcasing its comprehensive range of digital technologies for the intelligent building industry.

Available to view from the pioneering technology leader is its innovative Welcome IP all-digital smart community solution, i-jia wireless smart home system, i-bus intelligent building control system, free@home smart home system alongside its all-digital door entry system for access management, non-residential intelligent access control and cutting edge switch and socket series.

"China's urbanization and low-carbon city development objectives prelude the growth in the intelligent building industry," said Wang Zhongdan, Building Products, ABB. "ABB meets the safety, intelligence, comfort and green requirements of owners and end users of industrial, commercial and residential buildings. Its technical expertise and digital solutions in intelligent power distribution, electrical safety, intelligent control of buildings and energy efficiency make ABB the leading partner in this repidly expanding sector.”

Part of the ABB AbilityTM portfolio of connected solutions, the Welcome IP all-digital smart community solution features an open product platform, allowing connection via the cloud server to not only ABB's own systems such as the i-bus intelligent building system, i-jia smart home system, door entry system, intelligent access control and security alarm but also third-party smart home, intelligent environment and video surveillance products.

A user can achieve central, mobile and remote control of security, lighting, temperature, ventilation, shade, electrically operated doors/windows and appliances with a smart phone or tablet to easily create a comfortable and intelligent home environment. For example, you can alter the temperature in your house in advance with your smart phone, so that you return to a more comfortable environment. It also enables you to turn off all the lights and appliances in your house before going to bed by pressing down one button and turn them back on just as quickly in the event of any suspicious sound.

Available to experience first hand in the in the i-jia VR experience area, ABB's i-jia smart home system, featuring leading wireless connectivity and infrared technologies, can be seamlessly dovetailed with its Welcome IP full-digital smart community solution. The system can be used directly with a smart switch and socket, without the need for separate wiring and through a smart phone app, a user can control the lights, radiant floor heating and appliances at any time and from any location.

New office and commercial buildings in China's major cities are also becoming increasingly intelligent. Since public buildings are usually densely populated, they pose higher requirements for intelligent systems applied to them. System stability, operational safety, functional realization and intelligence are key concerns. ABB's i-bus® intelligent building control system based on the KNX standard realizes optimal control of lighting, temperature, ventilation and shade in buildings through smart management of various end electrical equipments, thereby ensuring comfort while reducing energy consumption. In the Beijing Capital International Airport T3 project for example, the system enables energy savings of more than 20% in lighting.

Finally, Xuanzhi, ABB's innovative switch and socket series, with extra-large buttons and frame-free designs, deliver un-constrained fashion and elegance. An ultrahigh polishing process, coupled with high/low temperature controller technology and an imported polymer PC material, ensure a mild and gentle look while reducing the scratch susceptibility of the products, meeting the high-quality product demand of China's emerging homes.

In addition to the display of its most innovative smarter bulding solutions, ABB is celebrating the achivements of Ted Hong, general manager of ABB Genway Xiamen Electrical Equipment Company, who has been awarded the the Fifth Global Security Contribution Award by the Organizing Committee of 2017 CPSE and the Global Security Industry Alliance. ABB Genway Xiamen Electrical Equipment Company is the global production base and R&D center of intelligent door entry systems.
