ABB supporting the CEDA Queensland Energy and Resources series
2016-06-02 - Energy review and reform leading the discussion at Brisbane City Hall
At last week’s opening event in CEDA's Queensland Energy and Resources series, ABB supported the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) function as a premium sponsor and welcomed the Hon. Mark Bailey MP, Minister for Energy, Biofuels and Water Supply and Minister for Main Roads, Road Safety and Ports in the state of Queensland.
The minister illustrated in his speech how new demands and new technologies are transforming the energy economy, with a strong focus being on renewable energies. Mr Bailey’s views on how energy providers, businesses and consumers create, transfer, store and use energy now and in future prompted a range of questions from the attendees, consisting mainly of senior industry representatives across the energy, mining and transportation sectors.
Adrian Beer, ABB Senior Vice President Mining and Enterprise Asset Management, addressed the attendees in the event’s closing note. He linked the insights given by the minister into State government reviews of energy legislation and reforms to ABB’s Enterprise Software business strategy and solutions. Adrian outlined ABB’s long commitment to the local industry and the contributions ABB has made to the Queensland and Australian economy.
CEDA – the Committee for Economic Development of Australia – is a respected independent national organisation with an engaged cross-sector membership.
