Flexibly adaptable

Mannheim, January 19, 2017 - Setting new standards for industrial laser level transducers
With its new LLT100 laser level transducers, ABB has set a new milestone in continuous contact-free level measurement. Alongside deploying cutting edge, laser-based level measurement technology, the devices are also sufficiently robust for use in industrial environments. Fields of application include mining, oil and gas, chemicals, food and beverages, energy and steam generation, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, and water and sewage.

The devices are used for the precise detection of the level in all types of silos and tanks, covering both bulk materials and liquids, regardless of the physical properties of the media being measured. Users benefit from reduced operating costs thanks to the devices’ simple, rapid installation and maintenance-free operation, as well as swift delivery times of around 14 days.

The LLT100 uses a pulsed laser to measure transit time, allowing for exceptionally precise distance measurement, with power supplied via the 4–20 mA signal line. The LLT100 is available in aluminum and stainless steel housing variants, with a wide range of different process connections. It meets all requirements for use in hazardous areas, as well as those for high-pressure or high-temperature applications.

The devices come equipped with an easy-to-use set-up function, while the integrated, swiveling control panel with graphical user interface offers enhanced ease of use. Its housing is protected against dust and mist to ensure reliable functionality. Explosion-proof variants are also available.

The powerful, cost-effective LLT100 is suitable for the level measurement of bulk materials with a dumping height of up to 100 m and liquid columns of up to 30 m. Special hygiene variants are available for use in pharmaceutical and foodstuff applications. The devices can be adapted to meet the demands of virtually any application using the wide range of available accessories, such as dust and cooling pipes, heated windows and specialized mounting brackets.

In 2015, ABB in Germany generated sales revenues of EUR 3.40 billion and employed 10,480 persons.
