ABB’s high-performance PP882 and PP885 panels, the latest additions to the Panel 800 Version 6 range of industrial panels, are enhanced with a 1.1 GHz processor and 1.4GB application memory capable of supporting up to 3,000 tags and 10 controllers.
Singapore, 5 November 2013 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has introduced several new operator interface touchscreen panels for its Compact control products for process and general industries. The Panel 800 PP882 and PP885 operator interface panels provide improved process visibility through larger screens, sharper displays, quicker access to multiple applications and an easy to use and navigate touchscreen interface.
Panels PP882 and PP885, with 12.1” and 15.4” display sizes respectively, are both equipped with high-resolution widescreen TFT/LED backlit, touchscreen displays with 262,000 colors. The wider display provides a bigger visualization area, making these panels ideal for viewing large and detailed process screens, without compromising optimal readability. Backed by a high-performance processor and an increased application memory of up to 1.4GB, these panels can handle applications with 3,000 communications tags and 10 drivers or controllers.
Process operators are provided a wider range of communication options, with both panels offering interfaces for connecting USB peripherals, including serial ports and two Ethernet ports. This means loading HMI projects can be done safely and easily via standard cables or a USB.
The PP882 and PP885 panels are equipped with IP65/IP20 front/rear casings, enabling them to withstand operating temperatures from -10 up to 50 degrees Celsius.
In keeping with the broad feature set of the ABB’s Panel 800 Version 6 family, these new panels are designed to provide intuitive, fast response rates, ready-to-use templates and libraries, multiple language support and other built-in functions such as displaying and controlling text, dynamic indication, time channels, alarm and recipe handling. They can be used with other ABB systems, as well as third party control systems.
“ABB is continually working to make process automation easy for customers. An improved computer-to-panel workflow, intuitive interface and added functionalities all contribute to efficient process operations. ABB adhered closely to these concepts in designing Panel 800 Version 6 — a powerful and fully deployable application that features smarter navigation and engineering tools,” said Lennart Z. Andersson, ABB’s Product Manager for Panel 800.
