Boliden Aitik Mine extends service care agreement with ABB

2017-05-04 - Customer focus and internal cooperation leads to a three year extension of a LTSA (Long Term Service Agreement) with Boliden Aitik Mine, Sweden.

ABB and Boliden Aitik Mine have had an established service agreement since 2010. When it was renewed for the first time in 2013, it was expanded to include control systems, drives, power equipment as well as motors and generators. The most recent extension was renegotiated in late 2016 for another three years, from 2017 to the end of 2019.

“With this extension, we now see a continuous LTSA contract for nine years without interruption”, says Lars Brannstrom, ABB Account Manager for Boliden.

The extension of this service agreement is a demonstration of our "multi-technical agreement" focus which really helps our customer to increase the availability and productivity of their equipment at the Aitik Mine. It also shows the importance of our local presence and the impact of bringing global and local expertise together. ABB will continue to deliver these services under the leadership of Hakan Bihagen, ABB responsible for the service agreement working in close cooperation with Dimitris Fotiadis in regards to the scope delivered by ABB Switzerland. The extension of the agreement is a strong evidence of the great work and efforts made by the involved ABB coworkers.

ABB’s service scope to the Aitik Mine covers all ABB installed equipment and systems. For content supplied by ABB Sweden, we now have a better offer to the customer with newly developed technology for the medium voltage drive systems.
