Both the electrical and mechanical designs have been enhanced to meet today’s needs and the use of materials has been optimized. With their classic streamlined appearance, the motors are more compact in size than the previous generation.
The robust, straightforward motors meet all basic requirements and will be available off-the-shelf. They are ideal for OEMs to build into pumps and fans, as well as for other applications including gearboxes, conveyors and general machinery. The extended range of variants provides considerable flexibility.
IE2 versions will be available in IEC frame sizes 71 – 355, and IE3 in frame sizes 132 – 355. They will be introduced on a stage-by-stage basis during 2014, with products up to frame size 250 being released first.
The IE3 motors provide compliance with the requirements of EU MEPS (European Minimum Energy Performance Standard) that will come into force on January 1, 2015. They therefore represent a futureproof choice for motor users and OEMs.
