Making a lasting impact, not an impression: ABB at Process Safety Symposium

2017-05-30 - Process safety refers to engineering and operational applications designed to prevent accidents in industrial environments. It also addresses issues of handling hazardous substances that might cause toxic effects, fire and explosion. Process Safety Symposium was organized for the first time in Istanbul on May 17-18, 2017. ABB shared its extensive experience in process safety area, presenting its products, initiatives and ideas on how to prevent emissions, serious injuries, financial damage, loss of production and environmental effects.

Hazards that arise from not implementing occupational health and safety measures generally affect one or more employees, While failure to implement process safety measures might cause serious accidents and destructive effects.

ABB helps facility managers, process designers, safety staff, operators, as well as subcontractors and suppliers to create safer production facilities. Our participation in the event raised the awareness about process safety management, the importance of its understanding by all the staff working with hazardous chemicals. We also shared best practices to avoid common cause failure and prevent cyber attacks.
