ABB participates in the first Edition of Oil and Gas Industry Exhibition, organized by YPF

January 2013 - The first exhibition of the value chain of oil and gas industry took place in the Tecnópolis park, located in Villa Martelli, Buenos Aires Province, from December 5-7, 2012. ABB was prominently featured during the three-day event.

ABB exhibited solutions and technologies related to control and automation systems and presented its complete portfolio of solutions and services for the oil and gas industry. ABB, which has 90 years of continuous operation in Argentina, has developed hundreds of projects, always seeking improved energy efficiency and increased productivity while reducing the environmental impact.

The exhibition began on December 5, with the visit of Débora Giorgi the Ministry of Industry, who stopped at ABB’s booth and praised our success in promoting national industry. Later, the official opening ceremony took place, headed by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the National President, and Miguel Galuccio, YPF´s CEO.

This fact places us in an excellent position to support the production recovery program and, subsequently, to back the important challenge of sustainable growth in Argentina. In this respect, as an essential part of the value chain of oil and gas industry, we want to continue being partners in technology and services matters, aligned with YPF´s strategy, with national production and national engineering development,” said Luis Pinchete, Local Division Manager for Process Automation in Argentina.

Throughout the Exhibition, provincial governors, such as Jorge Capitanich (Chaco), Juan Manuel Urtubey (Salta) and Sergio Urribarri addressed many aspects of the oil industry. Lino Barañao, Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation; Hernán Lorenzino, Minister of Economy; Axel Kicillof, Secretary of Economic Politics and Development Planning; and Carlos Tomada, Minister of Labour were also present, along with other national officials.
